Insulating Your Shed or Summer House: A Step-by-Step Guide
Introduction
Insulating your shed or summer house is a fantastic way to enhance comfort and energy efficiency. In this blog post, we’ll walk you through our effective insulation plan, using high-quality materials to ensure a cozy retreat all year round.

Materials Used
- 30mm SIFELT Insulation: Ideal for walls and ceilings, providing excellent thermal performance.
- 10mm PE Foam Insulation: Perfect for floors, offering a stable base for flooring options.

Step 1: Insulating the Ceiling and Walls
We began our insulation project by applying the 30mm SIFELT insulation to the ceiling and walls. The results were immediate and impressive! After installation, we noticed a significant drop in temperature, making the roof feel cool to the touch. This insulation not only helps maintain a comfortable temperature but also reduces energy costs.
We started by measuring and cutting the SIFELT insulation to shape utilising the roll width to ensure the lowest waste possible.
We then bonded with spray contact adhesive to the ceiling and insulation material. waiting as directed and bonding the material to the ceiling and walls.

Step 2: Insulating the Floor
Next, we turned our attention to the floor, using 10mm PE White foam insulation. This material is known for its low compression index, ensuring a stable finish that is perfect for laying laminate flooring. The foam insulation provides an additional layer of comfort, making the space feel warm and inviting.

Conclusion
By following these steps and using quality insulation materials, you can transform your shed or summer house into a comfortable and energy-efficient space. Whether you’re using it for storage, a workshop, or a cozy getaway, proper insulation is key to maximizing its potential.
